Kapitel 3

Olli's friend Maik forces Olli to drink with him, because he says, "wer nicht auf Deutschland trinken will, ist ein Kommunistenschwein." This was slightly ironic in that, previous to the falling of the wall, people would alienate one another because they were not faithful to the DDR, and now they are doing the opposite. Olli feels obligated to drink, because he fears if he does not he will be persecuted. This peer pressure event is a paradox of how it used to be.
